ABOUT LA JOLLA FARMS
La Jolla Farms is the small, secluded neighborhood that sits atop the bluffs above Black's Beach, on the north end of La Jolla. Developed in the 1950s and 60s on land originally owned by William Black, the neighborhood is defined by very large lots, long driveways, and bluff-edge parcels that look out over the Pacific and down a thousand feet of sandstone cliff to one of California's most dramatic beaches.
This is the rarefied end of the La Jolla market. Trophy estates here regularly trade for $25M to $50M+, and oceanfront sales have set repeated San Diego County price records. Architecture skews toward Mediterranean and contemporary, but the real product is the land: oversized parcels in a quiet, low-traffic pocket that's effectively a peninsula bordered by UCSD, Torrey Pines State Reserve, and the ocean.
Farms isn't walkable in the Village sense — there's no commercial strip — but it's a short drive to the Shores and the Village, and residents enjoy private access trails down to Black's Beach. It's a neighborhood for buyers who prize privacy and scale above all else.
